Berne - The Swiss government has frozen the bank accounts of the former Ivory Coast leader, Mr Henri Konan Bedie, and several other people suspected of corruption, the Federal Police Office said yesterday.
Meanwhile Ivory Coast's military ruler, Gen Robert Guei, sacked the country's foreign minister and replaced him with one of his own advisers, state television reported. Sources said Mr Christophe M'Boua had been dismissed for "activities incompatible with the objectives" of the military junta. They spoke of unauthorised trips to Gulf Arab countries.
