The dispute between butchers at Superquinn and the supermarket over a pay rise is at an end after the butchers voted overwhelmingly to accept a pay offer.

Yesterday, the Labour Court recommended that the butchers accept an 8 per cent pay rise, backdated to September, 2001.

Talks between SIPTU - who represent the butchers - and the company continued into the early hours of this morning.

SIPTU strongly recommended the deal to its members, who, this afternoon, voted overwhelmingly to accept the new pay offer.
