United Nations - Britain circulated a UN Security Council resolution yesterday to strengthen the UN peacekeeping force in Sierra Leone, bring the rebel leader, Mr Foday Sankoh, to trial and ban the import of diamonds from the wartorn country unless authorised by its government.
The draft, invoking the mandatory provisions of the UN Charter, is subject to amendment in the course of council consultations.
