It has been reported that seven nurses have been suspended from an old people's home in the North.

An inspection body said the Orchard Manor care centre in Co Antrim was under investigation and is in breach of some regulations, according to the BBC News website.

The home, run by the Southern Cross Healthcare group, said seven residents have been taken to Antrim Hospital in the past five weeks.

Southern Cross has said that this is not unusual for a care home, and that two of the residents have since died due to natural causes, the BBC said.

The Southern Cross website describes Orchard Manor as a modern and specially designed care centre that provides nursing, respite and convalescent care for elderly people with physical frailty, including those with physical disability.
