Beirut - The Interior Minister, Mr Michel al-Murr, said yesterday that security will be stepped up in Lebanon after grenades exploded near the US embassy and a bomb killed two people in the capital.

On Sunday, rocket-propelled grenades exploded near the US embassy. The grenades, planted 500 metres from the embassy and detonated by means of remote-control devices, caused no casualties or damage.
