Kigali - Rwanda greeted the United Nations Secretary-General, Mr Kofi Annan, with a ferocious attack on the world body, blaming it for failing to prevent or stop the country's 1994 genocide.

As Mr Annan sat beside him in parliament in the capital, Kigali, the Rwandan Foreign Minister, Mr Anastase Gasana, attacked the UN and its predecessor, the League of Nations, for its treatment of Rwanda since 1922.
