This evening’s draw at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, for the second round of the Carlsberg FAI Cup, turned up some interesting ties.

There will be a repeat of last year’s final as champions Bohemians drew an away day to Flancare Park against Longford Town.

Cup specialists and current league leaders, Shamrock Rovers, face a difficult trip to Turner’s Cross to face Cork City.

Meanwhile there was the prospect of a juicy South-east derby, as last year’s beaten semi-finalists, Waterford Utd must overcome local rivals, Kilkenny City to advance.

The ties are due to be played over the weekend of the 16th of December.
