A woman allegedly gang raped by three teenagers in Cork had bruising and cuts all over her body, a court has heard. The three accused were aged 15, 16 and 18 at the time. The woman has said she was drunk and cannot remember how she ended up in the back of their van where she alleges they raped her.

The jury has also heard that evidence found on the woman provided a match for the DNA for one of the accused. The men, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have each pleaded not guilty to rape, oral rape, attempted rape and sexual assault on September 13th, 2009.

On the third day of the trial at the Central Criminal Court, Dr Suzanne Cremin yesterday said she found bruising and abrasions on the woman’s hands, shoulders, upper arms, thighs, knees, lower legs and right upper buttock. She also had cuts and bruises on her back and chest. The trial continues.
