Several PSNI officers came under attack from youths throwing petrol bombs and missiles in the Bogside area of Derry last night.
The police were called to a house in Dove Gardens shortly before midnight following reports of a shooting incident at the address.
When the officers arrived, a number of youths began throwing petrol bombs, bottles and stones. One officer sustained a leg injury after being hit by a stone, a PSNI spokeswoman said.
Four masked men had fired a number of shots at the door of the house earlier in the evening. Two men were inside at the time, but neither was injured.

A motive for the shooting has not yet been established, the PSNI spokeswoman said.
