Petrol station workers were held up at knife point today by two robbers at a shopping centre in north Belfast.

The raiders entered the station at the Yorkgate shopping centre armed with knives shortly after 7am.

Staff were threatened before the pair made off with a small amount of cash in a blue Volkswagen Golf with blacked out windows.

A PSNI spokeswoman said a similar car was later found abandoned in the Marsden Gardens area of the city and taken for technical examination.
