Rome - The European Commission President, Mr Romano Prodi, said yesterday he wanted light shed on the claimed links between depleted uranium from NATO munitions and deaths among soldiers who served in the Balkans.

Mr Prodi said arms coated with depleted uranium should not be used if there was even the slightest risk for soldiers or for civilians.
