It looks like the hardworking members of the Oireachtas transport and communications committee are in for a nice bit of nosh when they visit RTÉ on Wednesday.

In advance of the arrival of Leinster House VIPs, RTÉ has emailed the committee to find out if any of them “have dietary requirements (vegetarians, allergies etc).” A buffet lunch will be provided.

Montrose is also sending a bus to pick the group up.

We’ve cast an eye down the list of TDs and Senators on the committee and reckon their hosts should be able to get away with the daily fare in the RTÉ canteen. They might just steer clear of pizza – a sore point with Mattie McGrath – and Labour’s Colm Keaveney is no longer on the committee so his allergy to stickie toffee pudding won’t be a problem.
