Police name man killed in Portrush attack

Detectives in the North are studying CCTV footage of the killing of a 24-year-old man in Co Antrim this morning.

Detectives in the North are studying CCTV footage of the killing of a 24-year-old man in Co Antrim this morning.

The attack captured on camera in Portrush, Co Antrim, did not involve weapons and police do not believe the incident was sectarian. A man (23) has been arrested.

The dead man, named by police this evening as Mr Brian Edgar Caskey from Coleraine, was involved in the incident at Station Square just after 1.45 a.m.

Detectives in Coleraine have appealed to anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward. They want to speak to a taxi driver who picked up a fare at the time of the man's death.
