Five people have been charged in Co Down following overnight disturbances in which five members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland were slightly injured.

The officers were trying to make an arrest in Hibernia Street, Holywood, when they were attacked by a crowd of youths.

A police spokesperson said the five arrested had been charged with assaulting police, disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.

The accused have been bailed to appear in court on May 28th. PA
