British police have arrested 12 people and seized a large amount of cash in connection with a multi-million-dollar robbery at London's Heathrow airport in March.
The arrests on Tuesday came two months after thieves allegedly hijacked a security van containing $3.2 million (£2.2 million sterling) that had arrived on a South African Airways flight on March 19th.
The 10 men and two women, aged between 21 and 37, were arrested after dawn raids at several addresses around London and are being questioned at three police stations on suspicion of conspiring to money launder and steal.
Searches are ongoing at several houses and business premises around London and were expected to take some hours.
The March robbery prompted the country's anti-terrorism police chief to launch a stinging criticism of security at Heathrow where he described surveillance as worse than at some shopping malls.
