London - Pesticide residues in fruit and vegetables sold in British supermarkets are not a cause for concern, food experts said yesterday. Prof Ian Shaw, independent chairman of the Working Party on Pesticide Residues, told a London news conference the findings were "reassuring, with almost three-quarters of the food samples tested being free from detectable residues". The report shows that over 98 per cent of foods tested last year had residues below the legal maximum residue limit.
