THE Northern Ireland Police Authority has described as "absolute rubbish" DUP claims that Catholics would replace 1,000 Protestant officers in the RUC.
The democratic unionist Party spokesman on justice, Mr Ian Paisley jnr, claimed 1,000 long serving Protestant officers would be made redundant to make room for Catholic recruits.
Mr Paisley's allegations were also dismissed by the RUC and the Police Federation, the representative body for RUC officers.
