Capt Frank Allen is to be the new harbour master at Dún Laoghaire Harbour, it has been announced. A native of Cork, Capt Allen has spent all his working life in shipping.
He was appointed harbour master of Dundalk Port in 2003. He joins Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company at a time of significant potential change. There is speculation the ferry service will become a seasonal operation.
