Motorist dies in crash with lorry

A motorist was killed yesterday in an accident involving his car and a lorry in Co Laois. Mr Michael Dowling (53), from Portlaoise and who worked for Bord na Mona, died following the collision at Meelick on the outskirts of the town at 10.45 a.m. The lorry driver was not seriously injured.
