Mother (26) dies after being stabbed

A 26-year-old mother of one died last night after being stabbed at a house in Dundalk, Co Louth

A 26-year-old mother of one died last night after being stabbed at a house in Dundalk, Co Louth. A man in his late twenties was arrested shortly afterwards and was being held at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The victim received a number of stab wounds during the incident, which happened in the Slieve Foy Park housing estate in Muirhevnamore at 8.15 p.m.

She was taken to Louth County Hospital, but she died from her injuries shortly after 10 p.m. The name of the woman, who was married with one child, has not yet been released by gardai.
