Up to three missiles struck a house suspected of being a safe haven for al-Qaeda and Taliban militants in Pakistan today, killing seven people and wounding several others.

The attack took place near Shahnawaz Kheil Dhoog in the South Waziristan region on the Afghan border, police said.

"Initial reports suggest militants were hiding there and seven of them were killed and several wounded," a military official said.

Military spokesman Major General Athar Abbas said they had some reports of blasts and some casualties and they were verifying it.
