A man charged with arson at a historic church in Dublin is unfit to attend court for two weeks, a judge was told yesterday.

A man charged with arson at a historic church in Dublin is unfit to attend court for two weeks, a judge was told yesterday.

Patrick Currie (48), of no fixed abode, was due before Cloverhill District Court in connection with a fire that gutted St Catherine’s Church, Meath Street, in the Liberties, on January 2nd.

Mr Currie, who has not indicated how he intends to plead, was arrested on Meath Street that day and brought before Dublin District Court the following morning charged with arson.
