A 42-year-old man has appeared at Laganside Magistrates Court this morning charged with the murder of another man during last year's loyalist feud.

Mr Ian Samuel Truesdale, whose address was given as Bolton, Lancashire, deniedkilling Jonathan Stewart (22) on December 27th last year.

Mr Truesdale, who is unemployed, is the father of the victim's girlfriend.One other person is also in custody.He was remanded in custody to appear again by a video link onDecember 18th.

Stewart (22) was shot dead during a Christmas party in a house in Manor Street in north Belfast.Johnny Adair's Shankill Road C Company of the Ulster Defence Association was blamed for the killing.

Stewart was the nephew of a well-known local loyalist who had clashed with Adair.
