Man in court over Dundalk woman's death

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of Dundalk woman Janet Chaney.

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of Dundalk woman Janet Chaney.

Mr David Hughes, from Oakland Park, Dundalk, appeared at Drogheda District Court this morning where he was charged with assault causing harm resulting in the death of Ms Chaney (48).

Ms Chaney fell ill at her Oaklands Park home just before noon on Wednesday. An ambulance was called to the house, and she was taken to Louth County Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1.10 p.m.

Ms Chaney lived at her home with her partner. She had three grown-up children who are believed to be living in Britain.
