A 35-year-old Polish man appeared in court in Northern Ireland today charged with murdering a fellow countryman earlier this week.
Mariusz Krzysztof Demski faced Newtownards Magistrates' Court charged with murdering 26-year-old Krzysztof Zlotnicki at the house they shared in Balfour Street, Newtownards, Co Down, on Tuesday night.
He was remanded in custody to appear by videolink at the same court on July 3rd.
Mr Zlotnicki was found in the house suffering from head wounds.
The accused was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the victim sometime during January.
Mr Demski, who appeared in the dock with his head bowed and accompanied by an interpreter, spoke only to confirm his name.
