Man gets life for murder

A Co Armagh man was jailed for life yesterday for the murder of a former RUC reservist nearly three years ago.

A Co Armagh man was jailed for life yesterday for the murder of a former RUC reservist nearly three years ago.

Mr Cyril Stewart (57) was gunned down in front of his wife in the car-park of Safeways supermarket in Armagh on the evening of March 27th, 1998.

At Belfast Crown Court Lord Justice Nicholson had convicted Neil Sheridan (25), from Callanbridge Park, Armagh, of the murder.
