Gardaí in Waterford are investigating a suspected assault on man who was found lying on a road with head injuries last night.
The man was found shortly after midnight on Barrack Street in Waterford City and was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where he is understood to be in a stable condition.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have been in the Barrack Street area of the city last night or who might have information to contact Waterford gardaí.
