Man dies in Co Waterford crash

A man has died following a collision involving a car and an articulated lorry early this morning.

A man has died following a collision involving a car and an articulated lorry early this morning.

The man was the sole occupant of a car that went on fire at about 2.50am after hitting the lorry on the N25 at Ballyshunnock, Kilmacthomas, Co Waterford

The lorry driver was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital with what are described as minor injuries.

The road has been closed for forensic examination, and local diversions are in place. Gardaí have appealed for witnesses to contact Tramore Garda station on 051-391620.
