Martin Anthony McCarthy (49) died in a caravan fire which took place at the rear of a house at Crecora Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston in Limerick on Thursday night.

A postmortem on the man’s remains was carried out at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle and a Garda spokesman said they were treating the death as accidental. According to locals the late Mr McCarthy had been living alone.
