Man cleared of rape charge

A Co Tipperary man was cleared by a jury yesterday of raping a woman after a disco two years ago.

A Co Tipperary man was cleared by a jury yesterday of raping a woman after a disco two years ago.

The jury of seven women and five men took two hours after a two-day trial in the Central Criminal Court to find the 27year-old man not guilty of raping and sexually assaulting the woman on May 6th, 1996. The man wept as he was discharged by Mr Justice Smith.
