A man has been arrested in south Derry by police investigating a bomb find last July that has been linked to dissident republicans.

He was taken to Antrim for questioning. The arrest is part of an investigation into the discovery of a bomb in the village of Bellaghy on July 2nd, police said.

The device, which was found in a yard in William Street, was packed with nails.

Today's arrest was made amid fears of a developing campaign by dissident republicans who have been responsible for a series of incendiary bomb attacks on DIY stores in the North.
