Man (50) charged over NI murder

A 50-year-old man was last night charged with the murder of a financial adviser in the North.

A 50-year-old man was last night charged with the murder of a financial adviser in the North.

He is the second person charged over the death of Geoff Kerr (60), who was shot dead at his home in Templepatrick, Co Antrim, by intruders who came to his door on April 27th.

The man will appear at Larne Magistrates’ court this morning.

On Monday another man was in court charged with murdering the father-of-four.

Darren Ivan Kernohan (33), from Moss Drive, Antrim, spoke only to confirm he understood the charges during a five-minute hearing at Ballymena Magistrates’ Court.

He was remanded in custody to appear via video link at Antrim Magistrates’ Court on May 26th.
