Broadstairs - Britain's last lighthouse keeper handed his lonely vigil over to a computer yesterday. From now on, the only sound at the lighthouse that has stood on cliffs near Broadstairs on the south-east English coast since 1691 will be the clicking from cables linking it to a computer some 50 miles away.
