Bonn - German Chancellor Helmut Kohl's conservative Christian Democrats have narrowed the gap but still trail the opposition Social Democrats by six percentage points, according to a leading voter survey released yesterday.
With elections due in September, the monthly Politbarometer survey put the chancellor's CDU/CSU grouping on 36 per cent to the SPD's 42 per cent.
