Stephen McPhail and Alan Quinn are the latest players to have shrugged off minor knocks ahead of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2004 qualifier against Albania at Lansdowne Road tomorrow.
Brian Kerr's squad, who underwent their final training session today before the crucial meeting with their Group Ten opponents, are now injury free.
Despite the good news for the manager and fans alike, it is not yet clear as to what the starting XI will be, though Kerr has hinted that Gary Doherty may get the nod to fill the space beside Robbie Keane."Gary has been sharp in training and unlike Steven Reid, he has been back training much longer at Spurs after his injuries," Kerr told reporters today.
Regardless of the team selection, one thing that is guaranteed is a positive approach to a must win game. But that positivity needs to be reciprocated according to the manager who believes that the crowd can be an extra man.
"We need the supporters to get behind us, but the team have to do their business. The fans can be a twelfth man but only if the team is causing problems for Albania," said Kerr.
As for the fans, newly appointed FAI chief executive, Fran Rooney, plans to turn Lansdowne Road into a fortress of green and ensure the players receive a rapturous welcome when they take to the field.
Rooney has allocated 1,500 north terrace tickets for eircom League supporters, provided 22 large Ireland tricolours and 40,000 green cards to supporters to create more colour in what is expected to be an electric atmosphere.
A giant three-piece tricolour donated by the City of Izumo at last year's World Cup finals will also be unfurled while the FAI are developing a new programme of music for home games.
Meanwhile, Don Given's under-21 side take on Albania in Dalymount Park this evening with Coventry's latest signing, Graham Barrett, expected to start up front. Though, there is some speculation that the 21-year-old may get a call up for the senior panel ahead of tomorrow's game, considering Glen Crowe was forced to withdraw earlier in the week.
