The widow of the late US senator Ted Kennedy is to travel to Ireland next month to accept the Tipperary International Peace Prize on behalf of her husband. Vicki Kennedy (56) will be joined on the transatlantic trip by her late husband’s sister Jean Kennedy Smith (82), who will jointly receive the accolade in Ballykisteen, Co Tipperary, on June 19th.

While in Ireland the women are expected to visit the Kennedy ancestral homestead in Dunganstown, Co Wexford, where the Government announced it is to fun a major visitor centre.
