Irish telecoms group ITG, which is changing its name to Alphyra, said it is to raise around euro 36 million through a placing and open offer.

The company said today that the new funds will be used towards extending the group's payment terminal network across a number of key European markets.

It also said it is involved in discussions with a number of European prepaid cellular operators, and that discussions are at an advanced stage with a major operator.
