Man in ‘serious condition’ after falling from electric scooter in Dublin

Appeal for witnesses following incident on Herberton Road on Tuesday morning

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling from an electric scooter in Dublin.

The incident, described by gardaí as a serious road collision, occurred on Herberton Road in Drimnagh at around 8.45am on Tuesday.

“A man in his 40s who was travelling on an electronic scooter was taken to St James’s Hospital after he fell from his vehicle. He is understood to be in a serious condition,” gardaí said.

The road was closed for a time while forensic collision investigators carried out a technical examination of the scene, but it has since re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to contact Crumlin station on (01) 666 6200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any garda station Any road users who were travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage are asked to make it available.
