Gardaí appeal for camera footage after man is killed in crash

Single vehicle incident in Ballyfermot, Dublin involved couple aged in their 20s

A young man has died after a single vehicle crash on the Sarsfield Road, Ballyfermot, in Dublin, which happened late on Sunday night.

Two people, a man and a woman were travelling in the car when the crash happened at about 10.35pm. One man aged in his 20s received serious injuries and was taken to St James’ Hospital where he later passed away.

Gardaí said a post-mortem will take place in due course.

The second passenger from the vehicle, a woman also aged in her 20s, was also taken to St James’ Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed overnight to allow for the scene to be examined by Forensic Collision Investigators. It has since re-opened.

Investigating gardaí appealed for any witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was travelling on Sarsfield Road at the time and who may have camera with camera footage .
