Ireland's largest IT show to go ahead

Ireland's largest IT event, e-XPO 2001, will take place in Dublin¹s RDS on May 2nd and 3rd, it was announced today.

Ireland's largest IT event, e-XPO 2001, will take place in Dublin¹s RDS on May 2nd and 3rd, it was announced today.

Exhibitors include 360 Networks, Canon, Entropy, Esat Business, HP CoolTown, Sage, Kadius, SureSkills, Sysco and Worldport, with in excess of thirty individual new product launches expected to be announced at the event.

e-XPO will also host the Irish Internet Association¹s second National Conference under the theme "e-Back to Business".

The conference features speakers from the European Commission, Cognotec, Cape Clear Software as well as Mr Chris Coughlan of Compaq and Mr Ossie Kilkenny of OJ Kilkenny & Company. The conference will be chaired by economist David McWilliams.

The Irish Exhibition Organisers Association, representing 90 per cent of all major exhibitions organised in Ireland and the RDS has stated that it is "business as usual" for non agricultural events.

Department of Agriculture guidelines indicate that exhibitions are rated as Category 1 (low risk) events, i.e. having no farming content.
