Blackstaff Press in Belfast has published two new reference books that offer interesting detail on religious and cultural traditions in Northern Ireland.

A Tapestry of Beliefs, sub-titled Christian Traditions in Northern Ireland (£9.99 stg) provides an opportunity for representatives of more than 20 Christian churches in the North to make clear statements on their denominational beliefs, practices and structures. It is edited by Norman Richardson, a lecturer in religious studies at Stranmillis College, Belfast.

The Cultural Traditions Dictionary by journalist Gary Law, with illustrations by Tony O'Neill (£9.99 stg), provides more than 200 references dealing, in the context of religious and political life in the North, with areas such as history, sport, music, politics, folklore, religion and symbols.
