Men held in murder inquiry

Two men were being questioned by gardaí in Limerick last night in connection with the murder of a man in the city earlier this year. Mark Moloney (40) was gunned down near his home in Garryowen on April 5th.

The men, who were arrested early yesterday, were being questioned at Henry Street Garda station.

It is understood they are being questioned in relation to withholding information about the murder, which has been linked to gangland activity in Limerick.

An 18-year-old man has already been charged with murder.

The incident occurred in Gortahork in west Donegal in the early hours of Sunday morning. It followed a fight between three men 40 minutes earlier when gardaí were called to a nightclub.

All three left the premises when gardaí intervened but another confrontation then took place a short distance away when the ear was bitten.
