The death has occurred of the Howth poet and former fisherman, Pearse McLoughlin (79)

The death has occurred of the Howth poet and former fisherman, Pearse McLoughlin (79). Mr McLoughlin, who served as a part time watchman on the State marine research vessel, Lough Beltra, died on the ship in Howth harbour on Monday.

Mr McLoughlin was a prolific poet, with particular emphasis on maritime themes.
