Hollywood's super-couple, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, won round one of their court battle with a former nanny who claimed she was never paid overtime.

A Californian judge yesterday threw out that action but then another judge denied their motion to quash another suit by the nanny, Ms Kim Tannahill. That action claims she was "shamelessly exploited and abused" while caring for their three children.

Ms Tannahill, who began working for them in March 1994, claims she was denied a social life and unable to see her boyfriend while working for the couple.

Mr Martin Singer, a lawyer for the couple, has said the complaint amounts to a legal defence of an action still pending in Idaho in which the celebrity couple allege Ms Tannahill misappropriated funds, defamed them and breached a confidentiality agreement.

Willis and Moore are also embroiled in a lawsuit against a US weekly tabloid which claimed their marriage was on the rocks. A Los Angeles judge has refused to dismiss their $5 million (£3.7 million) libel action.
