Ireland wing Denis Hickie has been passed fit to face Australia at Lansdowne Road on Saturday after recovering from a wrist injury.

Hickie was injured during Leinster's Celtic League clash against Bridgend last month, causing the Irish management to leave a vacancy open for the left wing position when they announced their team to face the Wallabies on Tuesday.

With Hickie proving his fitness, Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan has picked Munster's John Kelly on the replacements bench.

Former Lions prop Paul Wallace has withdrawn from the bench due to an ankle injury aggravated while playing for Leinster against Swansea. His place has been taken by Munster's Marcus Horan.
