A 65-year-old woman has died following a collision between a truck and a car in Co Cork this morning.

The accident happened at about 10.20am on the Clonakilty to Rosscarbery Road, about 1.5 kilometres outside Rosscarbery.

The woman, who was travelling alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The road remains closed as a Garda forensic collision investigators carry out an examination, and diversions are in place.
