Washington - Democratic presidential nominee, Mr Al Gore, yesterday returned to what he hopes will be the defining and deciding issue in the White House race - the robust economy.
In an address to the Brookings Institution, Mr Gore said as president he would protect the record prosperity by maintaining a pair of key fiscal fundamentals - balancing the budget and lowering the debt each year.
