Berne - Global warming could give the Swiss Alps a Mediterranean climate within decades and boost the number of severe storms, experts said yesterday.
Computers simulating climate trends suggested that the temperature in the Alps could rise by five degrees centigrade over the next century, said Dr Martin Beniston, a professor at Freiburg University's geographical institute.
