A six-year-old girl has been killed in a fire in a Co Kildare house early this morning.
The child was asleep in the house in Ard Clough when the fire broke out at around 4.30 a.m.
The child's parents and siblings escaped from the house.
The girl's body was taken to Tallaght General Hospital.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
