Gardaí have issued an appeal for information regarding an incident in which a man is believed to have fallen from a building on Dublin's South Circular Road and suffered serious injuries early on Sunday morning.

The 22-year-old man was found at the scene of the incident.

He was brought to St James's Hospital where he was treated for severe head injuries before being transferred to Beaumont. His condition is described as critical.

The incident occurred between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Gardai are appealing, in particular, for a taxi driver who brought two men from the Baggot Street/Adelaide Road area of the city to the South Circular Rd near the Player Wills cigarette factory around the time of the incident to come forward.

The taxi may have stopped at the Crumlin Shopping Centre before making its way to the South Circular Road.

Anyone with information is asked to Kevin Street Garda Station on 01-666 9400.
